At IFT in July

In July, Jeremy Harvey was in New Orleans to attend the annual Meeting and Expo of the Institute of Food Technologists.

This is an annual event, and represents one of the largest gatherings of Food related companies in the world."IFT is a conundrum" commented Jeremy.

"On the one hand Trade shows are a very 19th century way to do business, but on the other this IFT event does unite a large number of Food Technologists and Commercial people from all over the world."

"IFT provides a valuable role in the exchange of technical information, career development, networking and commercial opportunities. But it is not unique in any of these areas. For IFT to be relevant going forward it needs to establish strong bonds between the Commercial World and the Technical World. Neither can exist without the other in the food industry. The Marketing and Management Division of IFT, has a role to play in establishing these bonds, but so does the entire membership of IFT."

Jeremy is a committee member of the Marketing and Management Committee with a focus on the strategic development of the Division
